1. The Voice of a Father
(Matthew 3:16-17 NKJV) When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
2.The Voice that knows your name, in your language
(I Samuel 3:10 NKJV) Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.”
3. The Voice that Lifts, ‘strengthening, encouragement and comfort.’
(I Corinthians 14:1-3 NKJV) Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (2)For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. (3)But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.
4. The Voice that Loves, forgives, accepts
“Woman, who condemns you? Go and sin no more.”
(John 8:10-11 NKJV) When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” (11)She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
5. The Voice that draws us into a better future
(John 1:42 NKJV) And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
How do I grow in this?
1. Journaling. The word of God is close
(2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV) All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, (17)that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
(Habakkuk 2:1 NKJV) I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected.
3. Decides to love what God loves
(Psalms 122:1 NKJV) I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord .”
4. Prophecy – See it, Hear it, Speak the obvious
(Acts 2:17-18 NKJV) ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.
(Genesis 15:5-6 NKJV) Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” (6)And he believed in the Lord , and He accounted it to him for righteousness
