1.The burning bush closeness and calling
(Exodus 3:2-4 NIV) There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. (3) So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.” (4) When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”
2.The cloud of fire at night protection, warmth and guidance
(Psalm 78:14 NIV) He guided them with the cloud by day and with light from the fire all night.
Promise in the New Testament
(Matthew 3:11 NIV) “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
(Acts 2:1-4 NIV) When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. (2) Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. (3) They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. (4) All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Believers today – have this experience of Holy Spirit fire
(Romans 8:14 NIV) For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
(Psalm 39:3 NIV) my heart grew hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:
(Jeremiah 20:9 NIV) But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.
