Water Baptism

Message Notes

1. Water Baptism ≠ Salvation
(Luke 23:42-43 NLT) We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
43And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

2. Meaning Of Water Baptism
(Romans 6:1-8 NLT) Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? (2) Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? (3) Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death?(4) For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. (5) Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.(6) We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. (7) For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.(8) And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.

(2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT) This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

3. Blessing And Power Of Water Baptism
(Colossians 2:11,13-15 NLT) When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature.(13) You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. (14) He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. (15) In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

Because You’re Young…!!

Because You’re Young, Have Dreams & Vision!

(Proverbs 29:18 KJV) Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

(Jeremiah 29:11 NLT) For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Because You’re Young, Do Something Now!

(1 Timothy 4:12 NLT) Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

(Luke 16:10 NLT) “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.

Because You’re Young, Trust God For Your Future & Now!

(Matthew 6:33-34 NLT) Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (34) “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

My Heart for My House

  1. This is MY House

(John 8:35 NIV) Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.

  1. Jesus at the Center

(Ephesians 2:19-20 NIV) Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, (20)built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

  1. God Will build his Church

(Matthew 16:18 NIV) And I tell you that you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Message Notes

Stay In Joy (Joy = Jesus)

(Philippians 4:4 ERV) Always be filled with joy in the Lord. I will say it again. Be filled with joy.

(2 Corinthians 9:7-8 ERV) You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”(8) And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

No Matter What Your Background Is, Joy Comes From Jesus

(Philippians 4:11-13 ERV) I am telling you this, but not because I need something. I have learned to be satisfied with what I have and with whatever happens. (12) I know how to live when I am poor and when I have plenty. I have learned the secret of how to live through any kind of situation—when I have enough to eat or when I am hungry, when I have everything I need or when I have nothing. (13) Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do.

(Nehemiah 8:10b ERV) Today is a special day to our Lord. Don’t be sad, because the joy of the Lord will make you strong.

Come Back To Joy

(Hebrews 4:15-16 ERV) Jesus, our high priest, is able to understand our weaknesses. When Jesus lived on earth, he was tempted in every way. He was tempted in the same ways we are tempted, but he never sinned. (16) With Jesus as our high priest, we can feel free to come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we receive mercy and kindness to help us when we need it.

(Psalms 34:18-19 ERV) The Lord is close to those who have suffered disappointment. He saves those who are discouraged. Good people might have many problems, but the Lord will take them all away.

From A Small Step To A Big Step

Message Notes

From A Small Step To A Big Step

(Mark 10:51) “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”

(John 14:12) Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

How can we commit to our big future and move yourself forward?

. What do you want to see in your future?

. Who is it for?

. What should you do now?

. What do you want to see in your future?

(John 9:1-3) As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. (2) His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” (3) “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

(Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

What are you seeing going into Heart For The House?

  1. Who Is That For?

(John 10:14-16) “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— (15) just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. (16) I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

(2 Corinthians 9:7) Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

  1. So What Can You Do Now?

(2 Corinthians 9:11-12) You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. (12) This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

The Great Turnaround (Resurrected)

The Great Turnaround (Resurrected)

(John 10:10 MSG) A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.

(John 16:33 MSG) I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.

 Purpose (Dreams & Vision)

(2 Timothy 1:9, 11 NLT)For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. (11) And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News.

 Faith

(Luke 17:5-6 MSG) The apostles came up and said to the Master, “Give us more faith.” (6) But the Master said, “You don’t need more faith. There is no ‘more’ or ‘less’ in faith. If you have a bare kernel of faith, say the size of a poppy seed, you could say to this sycamore tree, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it would do it.

Fire (Passion)

(Hebrews 4:12 NLT)For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

Possible With God

(Luke 18:27 MSG) “No chance at all,” Jesus said, “if you think you can pull it off by yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.”

My First Year As a Christian

Message Notes

My first year as a Christian
1. No condemnation- old has gone
(Romans 8:1-2 NLT) So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (2) And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.

2. Living by the spirit, not by the flesh (natural)
(Romans 8:5-6, 14 NLT) Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. (6) So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. (14) For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

(Romans 8:26a NLT) And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness.

3. Chosen as a son/daughter
(Romans 8:15-17 NLT) So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him,”Abba, Father.” (16) For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. (17) And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory.

4. Never seperated from God love
(Romans 8:38-39 NLT) And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. (39) No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

BIT X BIT

Message Notes

BIT X BIT
(Psalm 139:13-16 MSG) Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.

What he is doing IN me is more important than what’s happening TO me

(Ephesians 3:20-21 MSG) God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

(John 3:30-31 NKJV) He must increase, but I must decrease. (31)He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.

(2 Corinthians 6:11-13 MSG) Dear, dear Corinthians, I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes fromwithin you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way. I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively!

(1 Corinthians 1:26-28 MSG) Take a good look, friends, at who you were when you got called into this life. I don’t see many of “the brightest and the best” among you, not many influential, not many from high-society families. Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these “nobodies” to expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”?

Comparison robs us of what God is doing inside

Bit x bit x bit x bit ( plus gods grace) = some very big days where we look like an overnight success!

Jesus understood bit x bit

(Luke 2:52 NLT) Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.

(Luke 22:41-44 NLT) He walked away, about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, (42) “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” (43) Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthened him. (44) He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood.

Leave and Lift

Message Notes

-leve some activity
-leave some resources

2.Lift
-rise, arise
-resurrect
-stand up
-to arise for a cause or role or function (destiny)
-rise to be eager to help

Other Bible pictures.
-Repent: change the mind
(Hebrews 6:1b) not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God.

-Out of Egypt and in to promised land
(Psalm 81:10) I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.

-Levi’s life becomes a ‘Jesus party’
(Luke 5:29) Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them.
-Levi writes a best-selling book – ‘The Book of Matthew’

By Grace, We Are Set Free

By Grace, We Are Set Free (God’s Underserved Kindness To Us)

(Ephesians 2:3-5 ERV) In the past all of us lived like that, trying to please our sinful selves. We did all the things our bodies and minds wanted. Like everyone else in the world, we deserved to suffer God’s anger just because of the way we were. (4) But God is rich in mercy, and he loved us very much. (5) We were spiritually dead because of all we had done against him. But he gave us new life together with Christ. (You have been saved by God’s grace.)

(Romans 4:6-8 ERV) David said the same thing when he was talking about the blessing people have when God accepts them as good without looking at what they have done: (7) “It is a great blessing when people are forgiven for the wrongs they have done, when their sins are erased! (8) It is a great blessing when the Lord accepts people as if they are without sin!” Psalm 32:1-2

You’re No Longer Under The Law, You’re Under Grace

(Romans 6:13-14 ERV) Don’t offer the parts of your body to serve sin. Don’t use your bodies to do evil, but offer yourselves to God, as people who have died and now live. Offer the parts of your body to God to be used for doing good. (14) Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law. You now live under God’s grace.

(Romans 7:22-25 ERV) In my mind I am happy with God’s law. (23) But I see another law working in my body. That law makes war against the law that my mind accepts. That other law working in my body is the law of sin, and that law makes me its prisoner. (24) What a miserable person I am! Who will save me from this body that brings me death? (25) I thank God for his salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord! So in my mind I am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful self I am a slave to the law of sin.

When You Accept The Truth By Grace, You Can Be Set Free

(Romans 8:1-4 NLT) So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (2) And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed youfrom the power of sin that leads to death. (3) The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. (4)He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
