Our Hope Is Jesus!!!

Message Notes

(Matthew 12:21 NLT) And his name will be the hope of all the world.”

(Luke 2:25-32 NLT) At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him (26) and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. (27) That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, (28) Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, (29) “Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised. (30) I have seen your salvation, (31) which you have prepared for all people. (32) He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!”

1.Our Hope Will Never Disappoint Us!!!
(Hebrew 6:19a NLT)This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.

(Romans 5:5a ERV)And this hope will never disappoint us.

2.He Will Certainly Save Us!!!
(2 Corinthians 6:2 ERV)God says, “I heard you at the right time, and I gave you help on the day of salvation.” I tell you that the “right time” is now. The “day of salvation” is now.

(Romans 10:9-10 ERV)If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved. (10) Yes, we believe in Jesus deep in our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we openly say that we believe in him, and so we are saved.

3.You Can Overflow With Hope Today!!!
(Romans 15:13 ERV) I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace as you trust in him. Then you will have more and more hope, and it will flow out of you by the power of the Holy Spirit.

A Place To Belong

Message Notes

(John 10:1-5 NIV) “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. (2) The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. (3) The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. (4) When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. (5) But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”

There Is A Place For You In God’s Kingdom (The Sheep Pen)
(John 10:7 NIV) “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.

(John 10:9a NIV) I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.

What is your value?
Well, how do we establish value?

So how valuable are you?
Who made you? God made you.

(Ephesians 2:10a NIV) “For we are God’s handiwork…”

How rare are you? There’s only one.
(Psalm 139:14 NIV) “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Do you know how much God would pay to buy you?
(1 Corinthians 6:20a NIV) you were bought at a price.

Message Notes

(Hebrews 9:27 NIV) Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,

(2 Corinthians 5:10a NIV) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us…

(2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV) So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

(1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV) And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

(Matthew 6:19-21 NIV) “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. (20) But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. (21) For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

(2 Corinthians 4:17 NIV) For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

(James 4:14 NIV) Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

Overflow With Abundance

Message Notes

(Psalm 65:11 WEB) You crown the year with your bounty. Your carts overflow with abundance.

(Psalm 65:11 TPT) You crown the earth with its yearly harvest, the fruits of your goodness. Wherever you go the tracks of your chariot wheels drip with oil.

(Psalm 65:11 NKJV) You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.

(Psalm 23:5 NIV) You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

(Matthew 6:33-34 MSG) Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. (34) “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

Example 1 – The guy who didn’t want any oil to fall out of his wagon
(Mark 10:21 KJV) Then Jesus, beholding him, loved him and said unto him, “One thing thou lackest: Go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in Heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”

Example 2 – The guy changed by Jesus and oil is flowing everywhere and immediately
(Acts 16:29-30 MSG) The jailer got a torch and ran inside. Badly shaken, he collapsed in front of Paul and Silas. He led them out of the jail and asked, “Sirs, what do I have to do to be saved, to really live?”

(Proverbs 11:24 MSG) The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.

Holy Spirit – Our Guide

Message Notes

(John 14:26 NIV) But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

(Acts 1:8 NLT)But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

1.We need to Feed our Spirit
(Romans 8:5-6 NLT) Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. (6) So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

(Romans 8:26-27 NLT) And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. (27) And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.

3.Let God’s Spirit control you
(Romans 8:9 NLT) But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you.

God = Loving Father

Message Notes

(Luke 15:11-24 ERV) Then Jesus said, “There was a man who had two sons. (12) The younger son said to his father, ‘Give me now the part of your property that I am supposed to receive someday.’ So the father divided his wealth between his two sons. (13) “A few days later the younger son gathered up all that he had and left. He traveled far away to another country, and there he wasted his money living like a fool. (14) After he spent everything he had, there was a terrible famine throughout the country. He was hungry and needed money. (15) So he went and got a job with one of the people who lived there. The man sent him into the fields to feed pigs. (16) He was so hungry that he wanted to eat the food the pigs were eating. But no one gave him anything. (17) “The son realized that he had been very foolish. He thought, ‘All my father’s hired workers have plenty of food. But here I am, almost dead because I have nothing to eat. (18) I will leave and go to my father. I will say to him: Father, I have sinned against God and have done wrong to you. (19) I am no longer worthy to be called your son. But let me be like one of your hired workers.’ (20) So he left and went to his father. “While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him coming and felt sorry for him. So he ran to him and hugged and kissed him. (21) The son said, ‘Father, I have sinned against God and have done wrong to you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ (22) “But the father said to his servants, ‘Hurry! Bring the best clothes and put them on him. Also, put a ring on his finger and good sandals on his feet. (23) And bring our best calf and kill it so that we can celebrate with plenty to eat. (24) My son was dead, but now he is alive again! He was lost, but now he is found!’ So they began to have a party.

1.Come: Loving Heavenly Father Is Not Mad At You
(Matthew 7:11 NLT) So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

2.Receive: You’re A Child Of The Loving Father
(Romans 8:15 NLT) So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

Overflow with Strength

Message Notes

(Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV) Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. (29) He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. (30) Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; (31) but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

1.Jesus is strong!
a.In the storm
(Mark 4:35-41 NIV) That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” (36) Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. (37) A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. (38) Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” (39) He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. (40) He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (41) They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

b.In the raging mob
(Luke 4:28-30 NIV) All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. (29) They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. (30) But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.

c.Heading towards the cross
(Matthew 26:52-53 NIV) “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. (53) Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

2.The Lord is my strength
(Psalm 28:7 NIV) The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

(Acts 1:8 NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

(2 Timothy 1:7 NIV) For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

3.Increasing Strength
a.Ask – The Lord gives strength to his people
(Psalm 29:11 NIV) The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

(John 7:37 NIV) On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.

b.The joy of the Lord is my strength
(Nehemiah 8:10 NIV) Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

(Psalm 21:13 NIV) Be exalted in your strength, Lord; we will sing and praise your might.

Our Father

Message Notes

(Luke 15:17-24 NLT) “When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! (18) I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, (19) and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’ (20) “So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. (21) His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’ (22) “But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. (23) And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, (24) for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.

1.He Made You With Love
(Psalm 139:13 NLT) You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.

2.When You Know The Father, You Know Who You Are
(Romans 8:15 MSG) God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children.

3. Receive His Unconditional Love
(Romans 5:8 NLT) But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners

Message Notes

(Matthew 25:14-18 NLT) Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. (15) He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last—dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip. (16) “The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. (17) The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more. (18) But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money.

You Have Been Given Much Too – You Don’t Have To Compare
(Romans 12:6a NLT) In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.

(Matthew 25:20-23 NLT)The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’ (21) “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ (22) “The servant who had received the two bags of silver came forward and said, ‘Master, you gave me two bags of silver to invest, and I have earned two more.’ (23) “The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’

Fear Will Stop You From Taking Good Risk
(Matthew 25:24-25 NLT)“Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate. (25) I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth. Look, here is your money back.’

(John 3:16-17 NLT) “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (17) God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
