(5) After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. (12) When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. (13) “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. (14) Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. (15) I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

Love Washes Off Dirt = Forgiveness
(John 13:4-5 NIV) so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. (5) After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud (5) or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. (6) It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. (7) Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
(1 Peter 4:8 NLT) Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.

Love Overflows From Within
(John 13:14-15 NIV) Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. (15) I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
(John 7:37-38 CSB) On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. (38) The one who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.
(John 3:16-17 NLT) For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (17) God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
